Gala Updates

1.  Gala Results

Well done to everyone who swam in the Rother Junior Trophies gala at Eastleigh yesterday.  There were some good swims from those who hadn’t competed before, and there were plenty of PBs (personal best times).  Here are the RESULTS.

2.  Galas Coming Soon

We have two rounds of the Rother League competition during June:

Saturday 9th June – Round 1 at Eastleigh

Saturday 23rd June  – Round 2 at Gosport

Team selections for both galas are on the noticeboard at the pool.  Please check whether you have been selected for one or both of these, and tick the sheet(s) to confirm you can and will attend.

Please can parents who are willing to help (in any capacity) please indicate this on the team selection sheets.  It takes lots of people to run a gala, and for round 1 on the 9th June we are the host club, so will need lots of support.

Thanks

Gala Updates

Gemini Trophy Gala

Thanks to all the swimmers and parents who attended the Gemini Trophy Gala at Basingstoke on Saturday.   Here are the results: Gemini Results.

Rother Junior Trophies

The next team gala is the Rother Junior Trophies.  This will be held early evening on Saturday 19th May at Eastleigh (exact time to be confirmed).  Please check the team sheet on the noticeboard at the pool – if you’ve been selected please make sure you tick to confirm you can and will attend.

Easter Swimming Details

We’re taking a one week break over Easter.

There will be no sessions from Friday 30th March (Good Friday) to Thursday 5th April inclusive.

All sessions will be back to normal starting from Friday 6th April, so don’t eat too much chocolate !

Race Night Gala – Details & Programme

We’ve had lots of entries for our Race Night gala at Basingstoke this Saturday, and hope everyone is looking forward to it.

The Race Night Gala Programme is now available, so please print your own copy before Saturday if required.

For those taking part, please note the following:

  • Please arrive by 6:00pm ready for warm up at 6:10pm.
  • Swimmers should bring a drink and a t-shirt to wear between races.
  • Swimmers bags should not be taken onto poolside.
  • All swimmers and parents must be quiet for the start of every race.

Although we won’t be announcing disqualifications on the night, those who do not complete the event in accordance with the rules will not get their time posted in the results.  We strongly recommend that less experienced swimmers (and parents) should take a look at our race guides before Saturday night to better understand what each race involves.

Good luck to everyone…..

Important: Further Pool Closures

Please note that unfortunately the pool is closed again today (Sunday 4th March) due to the leisure centre operator running out of gas, so the pool cannot be heated.  This is very frustrating but is outside of our control.  Therefore there will be no swimming sessions tonight.

We are unclear at this stage whether the pool will be open again for our sessions tomorrow night (Monday 5th March).  Since we may be unable to issue updates at short notice, please keep an eye on the leisure centre’s own website for updates tomorrow.
