Development Squad
For swimmers who are ready to take the next big step in their swimming journey! The Development Squad is where training becomes more focused and challenging, with increased session frequency and intensity to match growing ability and ambition.
There’s a continued emphasis on solid technique across all four strokes, as well as efficient turns, dives, and underwater work. Swimmers begin to understand how to train with purpose, setting goals, building discipline, and learning how to get the most out of each session.
This is also where many swimmers take part in their first competitions, from fun club events to entry-level meets. With the support of their coaches and teammates, they gain experience racing and develop the confidence to perform under pressure, all while enjoying the social and team aspects that make club swimming so rewarding.

Competition Squad
This squad is home to swimmers who are actively competing and committed to taking their performance to the next level. Training becomes more demanding, with regular sessions focused on improving speed, endurance, and race strategy. Swimmers learn how to pace themselves, push through tough sets, and sharpen the skills needed to perform across a wide range of events.
Each session is tailored to challenge and support swimmers as individuals, with a continued emphasis on strong technique, efficient starts and turns, and tactical awareness in the water. There’s also a strong focus on mindset and learning how to prepare for races, handle pressure, and reflect on performances.
Swimmers in this squad regularly represent the club at licensed meets, leagues, and other competitive events. But it's not all about the stopwatch; the squad has a great team spirit, where encouragement, sportsmanship, and celebrating each other’s successes are just as important as the results.
